ANTARA 12/12/2006  - Vice President Jusuf Kalla said that whoever won Monday's regional head elections in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam would be the one who had the right to be appointed governor and  must be welcomed.   "Whoever pair of candidates wins the race will be the one who has the right to be appointed and must be welcomed," the Vice President said after an evaluation meeting on the handling of natural disasters on Tuesday.

ANTARA 12/12/2006 - United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan  has welcomed the holding of Monday's regional chief elections in Aceh  and called on everybody concerned  to respect their outcome, his spokesman said. The UN chief also asked all parties  to respect the  peace agreement signed last year by the GAM  and the Indonesian government  to end almost 30  years of conflict in the region.
